Unified Sports.

So Jen Huston sends out a SPIRIT email, "Wanta go bowling?"

I say Sure.

She says, "The Unified Bowling Tournament is Sunday at 9. Longmont Bowling Alley."

I invite a friend along, and we show up ready for a morning of fun and frolic. We should've known better.

The first thing we see when we walk in is hundreds of people, from all over northern Colorado, a fair number just hanging out, laughing together, but more than a few stretching, putting on their bowling shoes, polishing the balls they've removed from their own personal bowling bags. There are some serious athletes here.

Soon enough we're matched up with our team for the tournament, and the rotation begins. Mark takes his ball, carefully studies the tenpins, casually lays his ball down and watches nine pins fall. Uh-oh, I say to myself.

Now I admit I'm no professional bowler, but I honestly thought I'd be able to at least hold my own.

In each team there were four bowlers. Each member of the team got their own ribbon. Here's mine.
