The Human Body is Built for Distance

A well-written review in the New York Times focuses attention once again on the biological advantages humans have for long-distance running.

Born to Run takes a closer look at the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico, friends of White Horse, Caballo Blanco.

The review itself is a good summary of the biology.

All worth keeping in mind. And perhaps a hint at why I find it so fulfilling to be out on the trails.
